How much does a walkway cost in Ocala?
Walkways generally start around $8 to $13 per square foot, with width, length, curves, and site access moving the figure, plus any tear-out of an existing path. Short runs can price higher per square foot than long ones simply because setup and finishing are much the same either way. We measure the run and quote it, never a number over the phone we can't stand behind.
My sidewalk has lifted and people trip on it. Can that be fixed?
Yes, and it is worth dealing with rather than living around. The first question is what lifted it: a tree root, or a base that washed out and settled unevenly. Grinding a lip can be enough on a minor rise. Where a root is behind it, cutting out and replacing the affected panels with the root situation addressed is the fix that lasts, and we will tell you which one your path needs.
How wide should a walkway be?
Three feet works for a straightforward path. Four feet lets two people walk side by side and is the better choice for a main front approach. If the route needs to take a mower, a wheelbarrow, or a wheelchair, we size it for that instead of the minimum.
Can you build an ADA-compliant ramp?
Yes. Ramps have real requirements for slope, landings, cross slope, and surface texture, and we build to them rather than approximating. For commercial and public frontage work we set the detail against the applicable standard and confirm it as built.
Do tree roots always mean I cannot have a path there?
Not always, but it does mean the layout decision has to be made honestly. Sometimes we shift the route a few feet and the problem disappears. Sometimes the right answer is a different surface in that stretch. What we will not do is pour a slab across a major root run and let you discover the consequence in year three.
Is it better to repair a few panels or replace the whole walk?
If the base is sound and only a couple of panels have moved, replacing those panels is sensible and we will do exactly that. Once several sections have gone or the base has washed out along the run, panel-by-panel repair turns into a patchwork that keeps costing. We give you the straight comparison and let you decide.
